What is Cat C+E (Class 1) Training?
The LGV Category C+E training course qualifies you to drive articulated lorries—vehicles with a rigid cab and a detachable trailer over 750 kg. Often referred to as a Class 1 licence, this is the highest category for LGV drivers in the UK. It’s ideal for those looking to advance from a Category C licence and pursue long-haul or high-capacity logistics roles. The course focuses on developing advanced driving skills, safe trailer coupling and uncoupling, and preparing for DVSA testing standards.
What's Included?
- Medical and licence application support (D2/D4 forms).
- Theory test preparation, if not already completed.
- Driver CPC training (Modules 2 & 4) for professional drivers.
- Practical training in articulated vehicles with expert instructors.
- Coupling and uncoupling procedures, reversing, and manoeuvring.
- DVSA practical test preparation (Modules 3a & 3b).

Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Hold a full Category C (Class 2) licence.
- Pass a driver medical examination (if not already done).
- Obtain a provisional Category C+E licence.
- Complete Driver CPC if driving commercially.
