What is ADR Training?
ADR Driver Training is a legal requirement for professional drivers transporting dangerous goods by road in the UK and across Europe. The course ensures drivers understand how to safely handle, transport, and respond to incidents involving hazardous materials. It covers both packaged goods and tankers, and is aligned with the European ADR agreement and UK regulations. Upon successful completion, drivers receive an ADR certificate valid for five years.
What's Included?
- Core module training covering general principles, legal responsibilities, and emergency procedures.
- Class-specific modules for dangerous goods (e.g. flammable liquids, corrosives, gases).
- Optional Tanker module for those transporting bulk liquids or gases.
- Vehicle marking, PPE, and load segregation instruction.
- Emergency aid and incident response training.
- Mock exams and official assessments.
- Option to claim Driver CPC hours (up to 28 hours depending on course length).
- Courses available in-person or online, with exams typically held at a training centre.
Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence (Category B or higher).
- No prior ADR experience required.
- Good understanding of English is recommended for exams and safety comprehension.
