Cat C (Class 2) Training
Qualify to Drive Rigid HGVs Over 7.5 Tonnes
Cat C training is the first step to becoming a professional HGV driver. This licence allows you to drive rigid vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, such as bin lorries, tipper trucks, and large delivery vehicles—making it essential for a career in logistics and haulage.
What is Cat C (Class 2) Training?
LGV Category C training prepares you to drive rigid vehicles over 3,500 kg (up to 32 tonnes), such as delivery trucks and refuse lorries. Often referred to as a Class 2 licence, this qualification is essential for anyone looking to enter the logistics and haulage industry. The course combines both theoretical and practical instruction to ensure you're fully equipped to pass the DVSA tests and operate large goods vehicles safely and professionally.
What's Included?

Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Hold a full UK Category B (car) driving licence.
- Pass a driver medical examination.
- Obtain a provisional LGV Category C licence.
- Complete the theory tests (unless already passed).
- Driver CPC is required for commercial driving roles.
