What is an Operations Manager?

Operations Managers are responsible for overseeing and optimising organisational operations to achieve strategic objectives. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and improving business processes, managing teams and resources, and ensuring operational efficiency, quality, and profitability. Operations Managers play a key role in decision-making, performance management, and implementing change initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Entry requirements

Employed in a managerial, supervisory, or operational role with responsibility for leading teams or managing business functions. Typically expected to have prior experience in leadership, management, or operations. GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or a willingness to achieve these during the apprenticeship.
