L2 LGV Driver

What is an LGV Driver?

LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) Drivers are responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across local, regional, or national routes using vehicles over 3,500kg. The role focuses on safe driving practices, vehicle checks, load security, route planning, and compliance with road transport legislation. LGV Drivers are vital to supply chains and represent their organisation through professional conduct and excellent customer service.

Entry requirements

Employed in a relevant driving or logistics role with a valid UK driving licence. Apprentices must meet DVLA medical requirements and be eligible to obtain or work towards an LGV licence (Category C or C+E). GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or willingness to achieve these during the apprenticeship.
