Mental Health Awareness Week at TTS

As we recognise Mental Health Awareness Week, we are taking time to reflect on the importance of supporting mental wellbeing across the transport and logistics industry.

At TTS, we understand the pressures many people in our sector face every day. Long hours, demanding workloads, time away from family and tight schedules can all have an impact on mental health. That is why creating open conversations and supportive environments continues to be so important.

This week also gives us the opportunity to look back and appreciate the incredible efforts of our very own Jeff Maughan, Transport Manager and HGV Trainer at TTS, whose commitment to raising awareness around mental health continues to make a real impact across the organisation.

Previously, Jeff took part in the UK’s largest Skinny Dip at Druridge Bay in support of Mind. Joined by his two sons, Joe and Charlie, who serve in the Royal Navy and Royal Engineers, Jeff took on the challenge to help raise awareness and vital funds for mental health support services. Thanks to the support of staff, sponsors and the wider community, an incredible amount was raised for Mind, helping shine a light on the importance of mental wellbeing.

Jeff’s dedication has continued far beyond fundraising. Earlier this year, he completed his Mental Health First Aider qualification to further support both learners and staff across TTS, strengthening the organisation’s ongoing commitment to wellbeing and awareness.

On our recent Staff CPD Day, Jeff also delivered an inspiring and thought provoking talk around mental health awareness which left a lasting impact on the team. His openness, perspective and passion for supporting others gave many colleagues a completely new outlook and was undoubtedly one of the standout moments of the day.

Jeff’s efforts are a reminder that even small actions and conversations can make a huge difference. His commitment has helped encourage more open discussions around mental health within our workplace and reinforced the importance of checking in on one another.

At TTS, we remain committed to supporting Mental Health Awareness Week and promoting wellbeing throughout the year. From encouraging positive conversations to embedding awareness into our training and workplace culture, we believe mental health matters at every level of our industry.

A huge thank you to Jeff and everyone who continues to support Mind and help raise awareness across our sector. Together, we can continue building a safer, healthier and more supportive community for all.
