What is an Improvement Practitioner?

Improvement Technicians play a key role in supporting business and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, collecting and analysing data, and supporting teams to adopt best practices. Technicians work across departments to deliver measurable improvements in quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

Entry requirements

Employed in a business, manufacturing, or operational role with responsibility for supporting improvement initiatives. GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or a willingness to achieve these during the apprenticeship.
